STEP 2 – APPLY

Apply online.   A student’s place can only be reserved once all the required enrollment forms have been received and registration fee has been paid. If there are no openings available, the student will be placed on a waiting list.

STEP 3 – SCHOOL ASSESSMENT

Our office staff will contact you to schedule your child for an academic evaluation exam for prospective students entering elementary and middle school.
Approximate length of time for screening by grade:

  • Kindergarten- 30 minutes
  • Grades 1st-5th: 1 hour
  • Grades 6th-8th: 1.5 hours

STEP 4 – EVALUATION REVIEW

Our office staff will contact you to schedule a meeting to go over your child’s results on the academic evaluation exam.

Admissions Requirements

Acceptance to Saint Nicholas School is based on academic, emotional, and social readiness. This is determined by placement or screening tests given by the school and previous school performance as indicated by past report cards, progress reports, teacher evaluations, and a family interview.

  • Toddler
  • Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten
  • Elementary
  • Middle School

Toddlers:
1. 18 months to 36 months of age by the date admission is sought
2. Potty-training is part of the daily routine

Two & Three Year Olds:
1. Two years of age by September 1st of the academic year for which admission is sought
2. Must be toilet-trained (no diaper-like or training pants)

Pre-Kindergarten:
1. Four years of age by September 1st of the academic year for which admission is sought
2. Must be toilet-trained (no diaper-like or training pants)
3. Pre-Kindergarten program is a mandatory minimum of 5 half days

Elementary

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

Kindergarten:
1. Must be five years of age by September 1st of the academic year for which admission is sought
2. Must demonstrate that he/she is developmentally ready as determined by data compiled as a result of readiness screening

First Grade:
1. Must have completed a full year of kindergarten
2. Must be developmentally ready as determined by data compiled as a result of a readiness screening

Second through Eighth Grades:
1. Must be the appropriate age of the year they are seeking entrance into St. Nicholas School
2. Must have tested at or above grade level on their entrance examinations

Consideration will be given upon review of the required enrollment documents including: previous report cards, standardized test results, and teacher recommendations.
